A parent consultation is a one-off appointment for parents who want a confidential, clinically informed view of their child’s difficulties before deciding what to do next.It may be helpful if your child is struggling with school attendance, EBSA, school anxiety, exam stress, especially where neurodivergence, autistic burnout, fatigue, chronic illness, pain or physical symptoms are a part of the picture.Many families come to this kind of consultation feeling overwhelmed by decision-making. You may have spoken to several professionals already, received different opinions, or feel unsure whether your child needs therapy, an assessment, school support, healthcare liaison or something else.In the consultation, we can think carefully about what has already been tried, what may be contributing to the difficulty, and what kind of support might be most helpful. Recommendations may include parent guidance, school liaison, healthcare liaison, onward referral, an initial assessment or psychotherapy.A parent consultation can be a standalone appointment. There is no expectation that your child will begin treatment.
